Transportation Construction Inspector

Short Description Bowman has an opportunity for a Transportation Construction Inspector to join our team in Lincoln, NE. Purpose Perform bridge and highway inspections to ensure compliance with codes and regulations. Responsibilities Leadership and Direction Perform work under moderate supervision. Receives direction on moderately complex assignments, tasks, and execution. Work is frequently reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles. At the Operational and Company Level Liaise with project managers concerning pertinent findings of inspections. Do the Work Perform inspections for transportation construction projects to ensure they are completed in accordance with plans, specifications and in compliance with codes and regulations. Document project assignments accurately. Prepare inspection and contractor performance reports as needed for project records. Maintain project documents and files. Perform other duties assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of one (1) year of DOT experience as a Technical Assistant 2 (TA-2) or higher; or two (2) years minimum of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience; or four (4) years minimum of highway or bridge construction, non-highway or bridge inspection, or highway or bridge design experience. NICET certification a plus. DOT Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification a plus. NECEPT Bituminous Field Certification a plus. Valid state driver's license and ability to successfully pass a motor vehicle check or reliable form of transportation to/from the office and/or project site strongly preferred. Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds. Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
