Lab Assistant

$19 - $20 per hour

The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Lab Assistant for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Newark, DE. Details for the position are as follows:

Pay: $19-20/hr.
6-month assignment with possibility for extension or conversion based on performance and budget.

Responsibilities:

Obtain working knowledge of the Quality System and Laboratory Information System.
Support the daily operation of a microbiological testing laboratory, including but not limited to:
Receive, unpack, and organize customer samples for laboratory processing.
Organize and prepare customer returns for processing.
Under supervision and guidance discard customer samples.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly routine cleaning of all laboratory equipment as needed.
Assist with Operations laboratory inventory.
Restock consumables and materials required for sample processing.
Under supervision and guidance operate laser cutter.
Dispose of microbial cultures, chemicals, recyclables, sharps, and glass in proper waste containers.
Comply with all aspects of laboratory safety, safety stations, safety manuals, safety SOP's and MSDS/SDS sheets.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma/Associate degree in Microbiology or related discipline with relevant laboratory experience
- OR recent Bachelors graduate with relevant academic lab experience
