URGENT CARE-VETERANS - 11620 Allied Health and Rehabilitation Services | PRN - As Needed Posted 8 months ago Status: PRN - As Needed Shift: PRN: hours and clinic location varies depending on the needs of the clinic's - Exempt: No Summary Operate radiology equipment to make clinical diagnostic X‑Ray films and perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices. Perform basic patient triage and assist patients to and from the examination rooms. Assist with direct patient care and clerical duties associated with all aspects of patient care within the clinic setting. Other information Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred. Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred. Current ARRT certification required. Current LA State Board of Radiological Technologist license required. Graduate of an accredited program in radiological technology required. BLS required. Must be capable of performing all areas of skills required in the day-to-day management of department operations and services. Responsibilities Perform X‑Ray images of specified body areas/parts in compliance with physician orders and established procedures and policy. Provide patient preparation for X‑Ray procedures. Determine proper voltage, current, exposure time; arrange, attach or adjust immobilization devices for precise positioning; adjust lead shield and protective equipment; direct ancillary personnel to radiation‑free areas; ensure appropriate equipment set‑up, cassette selection and positioning for best image quality. Process images using CR, edit and verify all studies in PACS in a timely manner. Call patients from waiting area in order of chart availability; obtain and record weight, height, vitals; escort to examination room; continue preparation for physician encounter; document and graph on growth chart as appropriate and per policy. Obtain and record vital signs, medications, chief complaints; document in patient’s medical record; perform pain assessment and master problem list documentation; reassess and document as directed; provide patient education and documentation. Assist physician with patient examination and procedures, including set‑up. Reassess and document as directed. Administer injections, perform phlebotomy, EKGs, respiratory testing/treatment as ordered by physician. Assist with aseptic and sterile dressing application. Issue physician’s excuse for school/work; make copy and place in patient’s chart. Serve as PCMH team member as appropriate for clinic designation. Assist with stocking and maintaining supplies in patient care areas. Assist with washing, identifying and returning instruments to Sterile Services Department for sterilization. Perform DOT and non‑DOT drug screen and breath alcohol tests, if applicable. Assist with processing employee medical information and test results to the client in an expeditious, accurate, comprehensive, and confidential manner; assist clients with required medical information. Assist with collection and preparation for transport of patient specimens per Universal Precaution Policy and laboratory requirements. Assist with cleaning the patient treatment area after the patient visit is completed. Perform waived laboratory testing as ordered (refer to clinic specific laboratory policy and procedure manual). Perform daily quality control and clinic checklist functions as assigned (refer to clinic specific policy and procedure manual). Address patient’s or significant other’s psychosocial needs through appropriate social interaction. Assist physicians and other staff members as needed. Call in medication refills and return calls in response to patient messages as directed by physician. Schedule hospital tests as directed by physician; obtain proper pre‑authorization and ensure procedures meet medical justification or have ABN signed. Call patients regarding test results as directed by physician. Assist in retrieval, logging and stocking of sample medications. Communicate effectively by expressing ideas clearly, actively listening, and following appropriate communication channels; demonstrate responsiveness and follow‑up on matters requiring additional attention. Follow any other job‑related instructions and perform any other job‑related duties requested by department management. Consistently attend monthly staff meetings.
