Category Buyer Mobile Equipment and Machinery

Location: Cleveland, OH Summary Of Responsibilities Serve as the main contact for mobile machinery strategy and lifecycle management. Oversee maintenance programs, vendor services, and preventive maintenance. Monitor mobile machinery needs, life cycles, and contract timelines across sites. Partner with Operations and Engineering to define specifications and optimize fleet mix. Track utilization, plan replacements, and support long‑term fleet strategy. Monitor performance, reliability, and cost to identify improvements. Evaluate supplier performance and support contracts and pricing. Ensure billing accuracy and maintain fleet records. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Experience with operation, repair, purchasing, or management of fleet management, mobile machinery, or heavy industrial operations. Understanding of equipment maintenance and lifecycle planning. Demonstrated strong communication and negotiation skills (verbal and written), and attention to detail. Capability to learn procurement systems and purchasing practices. Strong organizational and communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to travel domestically (up to 25%). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of equivalent experience. Background in heavy industry, steel, or fleet operations. Familiarity with maintenance, reliability, and vendor coordination. Salary range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000. Pay within the range is based on relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
