APM to Project Manager: Own Commercial Delivery

Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction - Texas Already doing more than a Project Engineer - but not getting the opportunity to step up? This could be the move that changes that. A well-established commercial construction business in Texas is looking for an Assistant Project Manager who is already taking ownership of real project responsibilities and is ready to continue progressing toward a full Project Manager position. This is not an entry-level APM role and isn't designed for someone still learning the basics. The business has a strong preference for developing people internally, making this an opportunity for someone who has already built solid commercial construction experience and is ready for the next stage of their career. ️ What You'll Be Working On You'll support the delivery of ground-up commercial and industrial construction projects , working closely with project leadership, Superintendents, subcontractors, owners and architects. Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of defined project packages
• Managing RFIs and submittals
• Supporting procurement and subcontractor coordination
• Tracking costs and managing change orders
• Working with field teams to keep projects moving
• Communicating with owners, architects and subcontractors
• Taking responsibility for significant elements of project delivery

This is a role where you'll be expected to understand how projects are actually built and managed , not simply keep paperwork moving. If you're already managing substantial parts of a project and can demonstrate the commercial, contractual and field understanding required of a PM, this business provides a genuine opportunity to continue moving toward that position. The ideal candidate is someone who wants to be a Project Manager - and is already building the experience to get there. Who They're Looking For You should ideally have:

• 3-5 years of commercial construction experience
• Experience with a commercial general contractor
• Ground-up commercial or industrial project experience
• Experience working on projects valued at $5M+
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, procurement, change orders and cost tracking
• Strong communication skills with owners, architects, subcontractors and field teams
• The ability to work effectively alongside Superintendents
• A clear desire to progress into Project Management

They're looking for someone who can already demonstrate ownership and accountability , rather than someone who needs to be trained from the ground up. The Package $100,000-$120,000 base salary , depending on experience Plus:
