Must-Have: General Med/Surg skillset including tracheostomies, chest tubes, reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips, administering Lasix, insulin, and heparin drips, and experience with wound vacs


Description:
Seeking an RN for a tele unit.
The facility is a Level IV Trauma Center with a Level III NICU and approximately 277 hospital beds.
All Med/Surg patient types are served.
Patient ratios depend on staffing, with an average of up to 6 patients per nurse.
Support within the department includes CNAs, telemetry monitoring techs, rapid response teams, phlebotomy for peripheral lab draws, and charge nurses.
The EMR system used is EPIC, and experience with IV pumps and medication dispensing systems is required.
Floating to any Med/Surg unit may be necessary and assignments will be determined by the House Supervisor.
Weekend rotation is every other weekend.
Holiday expectations involve working every other major holiday.
A clinical interview is required for participating candidates.
RTO of up to 7 days is approved if the candidate is willing to extend their contract.
Shift times are from 1900 to 0700.
The schedule cycle is 6 weeks.
Scrub color must be any solid color without logos.
