As an Investment Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients and advisors through research, portfolio analysis, and the implementation of investment strategies. The investment/research associate will have exposure to many different areas, including operations, research, trading, reconciliation, technology, compliance, and client service. He/she is extremely detail oriented, organized, and customer service oriented. He/she has the ability to easily learn new skills, manage multiple tasks concurrently and is able to work independently. The Associate will play a critical role in the back-office functioning of our firm. With responsibility for the day-to-day investment/research operational duties, the Associate helps monitor accounts and investment allocations, manage and maintain client systems, create various investment and client reports, and assists with compliance functions. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual who possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills and can work independently as well as in a team atmosphere. Duties and Responsibilities: The investment/research associate will work within a team environment to understand client and portfolio managers’ needs and maintain high service standards while increasing the overall efficiency of our firm’s investment-related functions. Duties include but limited to: Provide exceptional client service Support the Investment team in managing operational functions, including but not limited to maintaining data, trading, producing client and prospect deliverables and other functions as outlined by each portfolio manager Reconcile client custodian accounts to our reporting system (Tamarac) Assist with analysis and creating due diligence reports on potential investment recommendations Assist with preparing and sending out quarterly account statements and fee billing Leverage technology with a desire to add efficiency to workflows Maintain various compliance policies and documentation while understanding compliance issues, work collaboratively with leadership to adhere to all compliance requirements Ability to multi-task across a diverse set of tasks and projects Participate in weekly investment committee meetings with collaboration of investment ideas and market analysis Assist portfolio and relationship managers in aggregating client accounts onto our reporting system Coordinate various reports for internal and client meetings Assist with technology initiatives and vendor oversight Handle miscellaneous projects and operational activities and perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: The investment associate position requires the following qualifications: Two years of industry experience, preferably with an RIA Excellent attitude and extraordinary client service skills A strong focus on getting the details right Exemplary analytical and research skills Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft applications, specifically an advanced working knowledge of Excel Basic to moderate level of Excel VBA and Python skills are strongly preferred Familiarity with portfolio accounting software Interest in and knowledge of financial markets and investment securities Excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks within tight time frames Team player, collaborative, able to work with others, and a problem solver who can excel with minimal oversight Adaptability to work successfully in a small company environment.
