Cardiac Telemetry LPN

Shift consists of three 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend but may vary based on need. Floating may be required as necessary. The patient age group includes adults and geriatrics. The unit treats inpatient adults with actual or potential life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions. Common cardiovascular diagnoses include but are not limited to sepsis, MI, unstable angina, and coronary artery disease. The patient population may also include cardiac patients receiving IV antiarrhythmic therapy, vasoactive infusions, and anticoagulation. The role includes skills such as blood glucose monitoring, colostomy management, feeding tube care, isolation precautions, telemetry monitoring, and vital sign monitoring. Staffing and scheduling consist of a block schedule with a patient ratio of 5. Interdisciplinary support services are available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary. Floating is required to other units as needed based on census considerations and floating will only occur to qualified units.
