Dematic is looking for a Director, Corporate Development. This role offers a remarkable chance to lead Dematic’s rapidly growing inorganic expansion efforts. You will serve as the main liaison between Dematic and KION and represent Dematic in external partnerships. You will contribute to growing the company through partnerships, investments, and acquisitions—applying both technical and commercial insight to discover new possibilities. The role involves high visibility and a strong passion for strategy, partner alignment, and deal shaping. You will craft the narrative and framework behind key growth initiatives and influence executive decisions. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $153,000 - $205,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors Tasks and Qualifications: This is What you Will Do in This Role: Own and evolve Dematic’s inorganic growth strategy, aligning with enterprise priorities, technology roadmap, and market expansion goals. Define and operationalize what inorganic growth means, including collaborations, strategic alliances, investments, and acquisitions. Identify strategic gaps and expansion opportunities across geographies, technologies, and verticals. Translate market, customer, and technology trends into actionable inorganic opportunities. Lead evaluation of partnerships and M&A opportunities, including strategic fit and business model design. Structure and negotiate strategic partnerships, defining value creation, governance, and operating models. Support M&A efforts through strategic positioning, case development, and executive storytelling. Engage cross-functional leaders to surface opportunities and align on growth priorities. Influence and build consensus across Strategy, Technology, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership. Clearly articulate the commercial impact and value of inorganic initiatives to drive approvals. Drive execution from deal structuring through early integration, ensuring value realization. Build scalable frameworks, processes, and capabilities to strengthen long-term inorganic growth execution. This is What We Are Looking For: Strong strategic outlook capable of synthesizing technical, commercial, and market inputs. Proven track record leading partnership evaluations, deal structuring, and negotiations. Technical reasoning background with the ability to translate technical value into business outcomes. Executive-level communication and influence skills, particularly in matrixed global organizations. Ability to manage ambiguity, challenge assumptions, and drive alignment across diverse collaborators. Comfort operating at both strategic (portfolio-level) and practical (deal-level) depths. 7+ years of experience across technical evaluation, corporate strategy, partnerships, management consulting, or related fields. Proven experience leading strategic partnerships, joint ventures, or M&A initiatives in complex organizations. Prior people leadership experience with a focus on capability building and talent development. Experience working with global collaborators and senior executives. Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or other relevant majors) or relevant experience with proven work history required Must have an up-to-date passport and be willing to travel up to 35% throughout the year Will be responsible for direct reports and their professional development #LI-JR1 KION brands keep the world moving – globally, regionally, and locally.
