Business Development Manager – Dallas Under general supervision, this position is responsible for contacting prospective customers and selling J.B. Hunt solutions for their enterprise; accounts will primarily focus on designated transportation mode(s) to fulfill business objectives but can be cross‑divisional. The role defines opportunities to sell J.B. Hunt services, onboard new clients, establish a strategy for customer success, align internal teams to execute, and transition the customer to internal account management for ongoing care. Key Responsibilities Utilize data insights and sales‑enablement tools to conduct lead generation activities, including cold calling, networking, and other prospecting methods to convert new business; assess and align prospecting strategy with leadership. Meet with prospective customers to discuss viable opportunities, understand their business needs, identify scope, develop strategy, submit proposals, finalize contracts, and win business. Develop an account strategy for maintenance and growth; create a future‑opportunities roadmap for transition to internal account management. Coordinate with internal teams and customers to implement solutions, participate in kick‑offs, and create mutually agreeable implementation strategies. Set expectations during implementation for internal resources to maintain account health, conduct KPI reviews, monitor revenue quality, and review contract and payment terms; receive senior support for customers larger and/or more complex than typical scope. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 2‑3 years of sales, account management, or related experience (military experience counted). At least 1 year of North American Truckload experience. Willingness to travel to local customer sites with occasional overnight travel. Valid driver’s license with a clean motor‑vehicle record as per company standards. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field. 2‑3 years of sales or account management experience, with at least 1 year of North American Truckload experience. Ability to work with minimal direction, perform high‑velocity prospecting, negotiate and close deals, forecast, and manage a pipeline. Knowledge of internal networking and selling to close and implement deals. Compensation The annual incentive for the top 20% of performers is $15,000, based on a three‑year average. The position may also be eligible for annual bonus and incentive plans in accordance with the company’s terms. This position is not eligible for employment‑based sponsorship.
