Power-Generation Equipment Repairer Since the Army National Guard uses a plethora of electronic systems, power is essential to success. As the Power-Generation Equipment Repairer, you’ll supply the power to run virtually every aspect of Army activity whenever and wherever it’s needed. Job Duties Perform preventive maintenance checks on generation equipment. Replace voltage regulators, governors, or circuit cards. Adjust frequencies and voltages using technical publications to enhance equipment efficiency. Perform maintenance on tactical utility, precise power‑generation sets, internal combustion engines, and associated equipment. Skills You’ll Develop Generator and powerplant operations. Electrical generation and distribution. Diesel generator operation, disassembly, inspection, and maintenance. Principles of electrical and electronic circuitry. Helpful Skills Experience using hand and power tools. Interest in electricity and working with large machinery. Training and Pay During training you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training and approximately 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, including classroom instruction and field practice. Benefits Paid training.
