Job Position Broadband Field Technician – Albuquerque, NewMexico Description CobbFendley is seeking an experienced Broadband Field Technician in our Albuquerque, New Mexico office. Requirements Knowledge of field operations, methods, procedures, safety requirements, and environmental considerations for civil infrastructure work. Skills using industry-standard tools, equipment, and software to perform field tasks, document work, and communicate effectively. Ability to safely operate equipment, travel locally, regionally, and interstate, undertake occasional overnight stays, and work in varied weather, terrain, and environmental conditions. Responsibilities General – Perform assigned tasks with supervision, develop technical and field skills, operate vehicles (including large vehicles with or without trailers) and maintain them, and cross‑train in telecommunications, survey, or SUE field services. Safety & Compliance – Learn and comply with all safety procedures (SDS, EAP, PSP, JSA), observe QA/QC processes, identify hazards, use PPE, understand traffic control plans, and familiarize with federal, state, and local codes and regulations. Technical – Locate utilities using non‑destructive methods, identify entrance/exit points and cable types, document telephone poles and underground structures, measure duct banks, manholes, and riser conduits, assist in servicing telecommunications manholes, document data according to CAD/GIS standards, and read/interpret basic utility maps and drawings. Physical & Cognitive Requirements Handles prolonged indoor/off‑duty periods and frequent outdoor activities, requiring stamina and coordination. Must safely lift, carry, and balance up to 50pounds, walk long distances, and navigate uneven surfaces. Maintains selective attention, clear oral and written communication, problem sensitivity, and adaptability to dynamic job sites. Expected Work Hours Full‑time position; 40 hours per week, with potential overtime. Standard hours Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM CST. Unpaid lunch break of one hour; hours may vary with project needs. Work Location Flexibility Position requires in‑person work; remote work is not eligible.
