Enterprise Software Architecture Lead

Enterprise Software Architecture Lead

A large organization is seeking an experienced software architect to guide a major enterprise platform initiative. This is a hands-on technical leadership position for someone who can establish architectural direction, help engineering teams turn that direction into working software, and remain closely involved through production delivery.

The position combines systems design, technology evaluation, development guidance, code review and technical mentorship. You will have meaningful authority over engineering decisions while continuing to contribute directly when complex implementation work requires it.

What You’ll Do

• Establish practical architectural patterns for business-critical enterprise software.
• Translate operational needs into technical designs, delivery priorities and implementation guidance.
• Shape application services, integrations, data flows and deployment approaches.
• Evaluate technology decisions based on reliability, security, performance, maintainability and cost.
• Work with engineering, product, security and platform teams to resolve design and delivery challenges.
• Review technical designs and production code, providing clear direction when changes are needed.
• Identify performance, scalability and reliability risks before they affect production.
• Improve engineering practices related to testing, deployment, documentation and operational readiness.
• Help teams move complex software through development and into dependable production use.
• Mentor experienced engineers and communicate important technical decisions to business and technology leaders.

What You’ll Bring

• Ten or more years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial architecture or technical-leadership responsibility.
• Experience guiding a major enterprise application or platform initiative through production delivery.
• A strong hands-on development background in at least one modern software ecosystem.
• Experience designing distributed applications, service interfaces and complex system integrations.
• Strong understanding of application data design, performance and consistency.
• Experience delivering software in a modern cloud environment.
• Familiarity with automated testing, delivery pipelines, production monitoring and operational support.
• Experience designing secure applications that handle sensitive or high-volume business information.
• Sound judgment when balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term platform quality.
• The ability to lead through technical influence and explain complex decisions clearly to different audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

This opportunity is best suited to an architect who enjoys setting direction but does not want to move away from engineering and implementation.
