The Work The Network EngineerII will serve as the primary Network Development Engineer for the C2BMC program, supporting the design, build‑out, deployment, integration, and testing of network upgrades to operational sites. Working within an Agile Scrum team, you will translate customer requirements and contract obligations into actionable plans, travel to remote locations for installations and troubleshooting, and provide status updates to program personnel. Location and Travel This position is based at a Lockheed Martin facility in Colorado Springs, CO. The role requires flexibility to travel to alternate work locations as needed (valid passport required). Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance, with clearance level: Secret. The candidate must be a US Citizen and possess a valid US passport. Basic Qualifications Qualified candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position. An 8140 compliant certification (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CISSP, CISA). Foundational knowledge of network design, OSI model, TCP/IP, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF). Ability to travel to alternate work locations for deployments and field projects. Strong written and oral communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio. Desired Skills Experience with multi‑vendor switching/routing (Juniper, Cisco) and WAN optimizers. Proficiency in firewall technologies (Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto). Knowledge of UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE tunnels, and advanced TCP/IP designs. Hands‑on expertise with network traffic analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with TACLANE devices and optical transport equipment. Ability to work within Agile/Scrum frameworks and manage contract‑driven deliverables. Preferred: Active Top Secret clearance. Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is $70,100 – $123,625.
