Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant LHH is seeking a motivated accounting professional to join a growing finance team. This opportunity is ideal for an individual looking to expand their experience in full-cycle accounting while supporting a portfolio of operating entities. The role will be responsible for financial reporting, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and collaboration with various operational teams to ensure accurate financial records and reporting. This position is direct hire and will pay between $55K and $70K annually. Responsibilities Perform month-end close activities and help maintain accurate financial records across assigned entities. Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and recurring transactions. Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy. Analyze financial data and explain fluctuations compared to budgets, forecasts, and prior periods. Review bank activity, balance sheet accounts, and internal account transactions for completeness and accuracy. Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for management review. Maintain organized accounting documentation and support internal control procedures. Partner with internal departments to gather financial information and ensure accurate reporting of project and capital-related expenditures. Support cash management activities, including monitoring balances and assisting with funding requirements. Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and other financial planning initiatives. Provide support during audits and assist with special projects as assigned. Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting effectiveness. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related experience. At least 1 year of accounting experience involving journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close responsibilities. Working knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting concepts. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience using ERP, accounting, or financial management software is beneficial. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn within a team-oriented setting.
