Summary Of Position The Quality Control Chemist I performs routine testing to assess the conformance of raw materials, finished products, and stability samples to predetermined product specifications. They work in conformance with approved procedures, accurately document data, report results, and demonstrate a basic knowledge of SOPs and GMP regulations related to the pharmaceutical quality control laboratory. Organization Structure The Quality Control Chemist I / Microbiologist I reports to the Manager Quality Control or Team Leader Quality Control. Responsibilities Safety – Perform job functions safely, comply with OSHA and site safety practices, attend safety training, identify hazards, assist in investigations. Compliance – Perform tasks in compliance with cGXP, industry standards, FDA expectations, and internal procedures; assist laboratory investigations; maintain GMP training. Productivity – Perform routine sample analysis (weighing, pipetting, titration, basic instrumentation), follow approved test methods, use software to control instrumentation, process data, calculate results, report results, evaluate physical characteristics, work under supervisor direction, calculate results, assess conformance, notify manager of nonconforming data, schedule work, maintain accurate records, prepare reagents and solutions, and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or related discipline. 0‑3 years experience in a pharmaceutical QC laboratory environment. Understanding of cGXP requirements preferred. Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. GMP Decision‑Making Authority Notify laboratory management regarding investigations. Maintain required level of training to perform a GMP task. Assess suitability of analytical equipment/instruments. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $62,354.00.
