ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ANNOUNCES AN OPENING IN BUSINESS AFFAIRS

POSITION: Accounting Clerk

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Responsible for providing exemplary customer service at the Business Office cashier's window. Receive payment of cash, credit cards, and checks through the cashier's window, via the mail, and by telephone. Calculate and collect payments for tuition, fees, charges, fines, etc. Research, detail, and explain charges on billing statement. Assist in handling any billing questions, concerns, or complaints. Answer telephone inquiries from students and faculty. Receive, record, and generate receipts for deposits from outside sources and agencies. Certify students receiving tuition assistance, grants, and scholarships into computer terminal. Place/clear "holds" on students' records. Disperse financial aid. Post traffic fines to student accounts. Disburse travel reimbursement checks. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Six (6) months business office cashier experience or related banking experience. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in operating business office equipment such as a calculator, typewriter, and computer. Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel. Moderate lifting up to 25 lbs. and light carrying up to 10 lbs. required. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping. 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Two (2) years cashier experience or related banking experience. Two (2) years computer experience. People Soft experience.
