SAP IS-U CIS Test Lead – Public Utility Founded in 2007, DTI (Diversified Technology, Inc.) is a successful African American owned IT Consulting/Staffing firm based in Chicago's Loop. Location: Columbus, OH Duration: Multi-year contract engagement Work arrangement: Onsite presence in Columbus as required for key testing milestones, UAT, cutover, and go-live; travel expectations to be confirmed. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-U Test Lead to support a multi-year Customer Information System (CIS) implementation for a public utility. This individual will establish the test strategy, develop test plans and scripts, and lead testing across SAP IS-U customer and utility processes and their integrations. The ideal candidate has led testing on a large-scale SAP IS-U utility implementation—not solely production support or a general SAP ERP program. Key Responsibilities Develop and own the end-to-end test strategy, master test plan, schedules, deliverables, and entry and exit criteria for integration, system, user acceptance, regression, and cutover testing. Create and oversee detailed test scenarios, cases, and scripts covering the utility customer lifecycle, including accounts and premises, service activation, device and meter processes, meter reads and usage, billing, invoicing, payments, and collections. Ensure test coverage for SAP IS-U integrations with relevant systems, such as AMI/MDM, customer channels, contact center, payment platforms, and finance. Define test-data requirements and coordinate environment readiness, data setup, and dependencies across functional, technical, integration, and business teams. Lead test execution, monitor coverage and results, and manage the defect lifecycle from identification and triage through resolution and retesting. Plan and coordinate UAT with utility business owners, including user preparation, script execution, issue escalation, and sign-off. Provide clear progress reports, quality metrics, risk assessments, and go/no-go recommendations to program leadership. Support mock conversions, cutover rehearsals, go-live readiness, and post-deployment validation as needed. Apply lessons learned to improve test processes across successive implementation releases. Required Qualifications 5+ years of SAP testing experience, including at least 2 years leading testing for a large-scale implementation or transformation program. Direct experience leading testing on an SAP IS-U implementation for a regulated electric, gas, or water utility. Demonstrated hands-on ownership of test strategy, test plans, test scenarios, and test scripts—not only test execution or production support. Strong understanding of SAP IS-U customer, meter-to-cash, billing, and payment processes and their integration points. Experience leading SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect triage, and business sign-off across multiple workstreams. Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) and ADO Test Plans, including test-case management, execution tracking, defect reporting, and dashboards. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate utility business stakeholders, implementation partners, and technical teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP S/4HANA for Utilities or an SAP IS-U modernization program. Experience testing AMI/MDM-to-SAP IS-U data flows, data conversion, and reconciliation. Familiarity with both waterfall and agile delivery methods. Experience supporting phased deployments and multiple test cycles within a multi-year utility program.
