APP Manager, Inpatient and ORAC

Brief Overview Reporting to the APP Director, Inpatient & Oncology Rapid Assessment Clinic (ORAC) in the Cancer Destination Service Line (DSL), the APP Manager provides day-to-day operational leadership and management for APPs across the inpatient and ORAC service lines within Stanford Medicine Cancer Center. Responsibilities include APP hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, regulatory support, and transition to practice coordination, in partnership with physician, nursing, and operational leaders to ensure effective staffing, workflow, workforce engagement, and quality outcomes. Responsibilities Assign work, develop work procedures consistent with hospital policy, establish schedules, and monitor performance of staff to meet goals and objectives. Conduct hiring, training, performance evaluation, and personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, merit salary increases, or disciplinary action; address employee grievances. Lead or participate in efforts to assess outcomes of APP care across SHC. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements for APPs. Promote evidence‑based practices that support cost‑savings and revenue‑generating initiatives. Collaborate with the Director of Advanced Practice to improve the work environment of APPs. Support shared governance and participate in Magnet activities. May participate in clinical practice. Education Qualifications Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited university (for Nurse Practitioner). Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Nursing, or a related field from an accredited university (for Physician Assistant). Experience Qualifications Five (5) years of experience as a licensed advanced practice provider (PA, NP, CNS, or CRNA). Management experience is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships across diverse groups. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines. Promote evidence‑based practice and innovation in patient care. Use educational strategies to influence staff development. Communicate effectively in individual and large‑group settings. Recognize, reward, or counsel staff. Work full‑time. Licenses and Certifications Physician Assistant – State licensure or Compact State licensure. Registered Nurse – State licensure (and/or Compact State licensure). Registered Nurse Practitioner – State licensure. Clinical Nurse Specialist – State licensure. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – State licensure.
