Flex Crew Pipefitter Position Available

FutureFuel Chemical Company is looking for temporary Pipefitters to assist with an expansion job. This position will works under the supervision of a Supervisor, Construction & Project Engineering, and performs a wide variety of skilled piping work. Pipefitters work with peers to manage the day-to-day needs in the assigned area of responsibility. Job duties involve one or more of the following assignment areas: the fabrication, installation, alteration, and repair of various piping systems; the operation of various shop equipment (band saw, drill press, etc.), as well as a variety of hand tools specific to piping work. Works in elevated locations and confined spaces and extremes in ambient temperatures. This position is temporary and expected to last till April, 2025. Full-time employment is possible if positions become available. Current work schedule is 6-10's. Paying 1.75X for hours over 52/week.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs highly-skilled piping work involving the assembly, installation, alteration, and repair of piping systems in accordance with Engineering Standards and best practices. 
• Determines the most efficient and effective means of facilitating work in order to reduce cost and minimize downtime; may provide recommendations to supervision regarding these items. 
• Operates power tools and uses hand tools as needed. 
• Determines the proper methods and installs a wide variety of piping systems.              
• Plans and performs the fabrication, assembly, installation, alteration, and repair of various piping systems.
• Lays out work using a rule, square, pattern, template, or other measurement device(s) to facilitate piping jobs. 
• Performs the phases of pipefitting work for all pressure classes. This includes threaded, welded, and lined piping.
• Draw isometric drawings of piping systems that can be understood and piping fabricated by others.
• Works from Piping and Instrumentation drawings, Isometric drawings, sketches, oral instructions to fabricate and install piping. 
• Follows proper rigging and hoisting practices as required.
• Attends special schools or training sessions concerning new piping systems or techniques, skills or methods, and trains others in the crew techniques thus acquired.
• Cleans up job site at end of each job or shift by returning all tools, materials, and supplies to the proper location and properly disposes of all scrap. 
• Works with and directs the work of other personnel as required. 
• Operates man-lifts and skyjack. Also drives company vehicles to/from job sites. Must have a valid Arkansas Drivers’ license.
• Plans and schedules work as needed with Maintenance Coordinators. 
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
• Communicates effectively in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Completes required safety training as directed. Will comply with all established departmental, company, and OSHA safety regulations.

Key Qualifications

• Pipefitters must satisfactorily pass a respirator fit test and be capable of working near rotating and moving machinery. 
• Assignment to this classification requires the completion of the FutureFuel Chemical Company Pipefitter's Test or four years' applicable experience.
• Strong math knowledge
• Be familiar with different pipe specifications, standards and details
• Be familiar with reading and drawing isometric drawings
• Possess pipefitter handbook and be familiar with using it
• Be able to perform all of the essential elements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Have successfully completed the FutureFuel Chemical Company Pipefitter's Test or equivalent
• Be capable of clear, concise verbal, and written communications
• Possess and practice good organizational skills
• Be capable of interfacing with various levels of company management, employees, external contacts
• Must be a team player
• Be willing and capable to work varied and rotating shift schedules according to business needs (i.e., around-the-clock coverage for both routine and emergency needs and working overtime and responding to emergencies during off-hours)
• Required to wear FR clothing
• Acquire and maintain personal tools.
