Reports To: Director of Restaurants

Overview: Grande Vista Bar & Grill is Emerald Grande’s signature restaurant located on the Destin Harbor overlooking Florida’s beautiful Emerald Coast with spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico, Choctawhatchee Bay, East Pass and the Destin Harbor.

Summary: The Towel Attendant will offer disseminate pool towels to the guests of the hotel while managing the organization and cleanliness of the towel hut and pool deck. This role will welcome our guests and enforce safety rules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Retrieve pool towels from the laundry department daily.
• Organize towels in the towel hut in a pleasing fashion throughout the day.
• Ensure that guests are greeted and served in a timely and pleasant manner. Provide them with towels and attend to their questions/requests.
• Open or close pool umbrellas, arrange loungers, and other pool furniture.
• Assist with ensuring the pool deck area and furniture are clean and safe.
• Clear away used towels that are turned in.
• Report any damages or incidents to a supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

Highschool diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements

Knowledge

• Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Able to perform physical labor in inclement/hot weather conditions.
• Ability to move and lift heavy furniture and wet pool towels.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Consistent professional appearance and pleasant demeanor.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Language Skills Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems and complaints in a professional manner.

Other Qualifications

Availability Open and operational seven days a week. Employees are required to be available to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays.

License Requirements Valid driver’s license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.
