Senior Director Empower Strategies is hiring for a dynamic communications firm headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, specializing in integrated public affairs, corporate communications, digital strategy, advertising, and media planning. Our team develops high-impact campaigns that help clients navigate complex challenges and achieve measurable results. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Director to join our expanding digital team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering winning advocacy and communications campaigns. Responsibilities Key responsibilities include: Developing and executing innovative digital strategies for public affairs clients, while identifying opportunities and mitigating challenges to drive effective and efficient campaign performance. Building and maintaining strong client relationships, supporting account growth, and contributing to the development of strategic proposals for prospective business opportunities. Managing and mentoring a team of digital strategists to ensure successful execution of ongoing client work and special initiatives. Working closely with the Graphic Design team to create compelling client materials, including branding assets, social media graphics, presentations, and one-pagers. Coordinating with the Digital Advertising team to launch campaigns, manage project workflows, and deliver clear, data-driven client reports. Advising clients on best practices in digital communications, audience engagement, and online advocacy efforts. Qualifications Successful candidates will typically possess the following: Ability to excel in a high-energy, fast-moving professional environment. Confidence interacting with clients, partners, and external stakeholders on a daily basis. Experience leading teams, managing workflows, and producing strong client outcomes. Excellent writing and editing abilities, including adapting messaging across different audiences and platforms. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a solutions-oriented mindset. Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities, with careful attention to deadlines and details. A proactive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to delivering high-quality work. Requirements 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, public affairs, public relations, political campaigns, or related fields. Prior agency experience in public affairs or public relations is required. Advanced writing and editing skills, including experience preparing materials for senior-level audiences and proficiency in AP Style. Hands-on experience using digital and social media platforms for advocacy, communications, or public affairs campaigns. Demonstrated success developing and implementing strategic digital campaigns while managing client relationships. Experience incorporating AI tools and emerging technologies to streamline workflows and improve operational effectiveness in alignment with company policies. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
