Georgetown Operations Center, 5960 1st Ave S, Seattle, Washington, United States of America Equipment Operator Department: Production FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt Job Code: 51‑1011 Reports to: Production Manager Pay Rate: $21.65/hour About the Position The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of various PIT equipment such as forklift and pallet jack, and for transferring and loading donated goods to support Evergreen Goodwill’s business operations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Perform pre‑and post‑operation inspection of the equipment in accordance with Goodwill policy to ensure federal and state compliance. Safely and efficiently operate equipment that may include forklift, pallet jack, front‑end loader and other equipment using proper safety standards. Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste in materials. Continuously monitor the condition of the equipment to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize downtime; clean tracks or wheels on equipment, as needed. Report any necessary repairs to supervisor, as needed. Follow all required safety policies and procedures. Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; report any potential hazards or accidents. Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Minimum 1 year prior equipment operation experience Minimum 1 year working in warehouse type of environment. Basic familiarity with warehouse procedures and operations. Prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA. Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner. Good follow‑through ability; ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise. Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations Goodwill Forklift certification required: must meet eligibility requirements Physical Abilities While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to lift and carry up to 40‑50 pounds; develop fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers; stand for long periods, frequently bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, push; climb ladders; travel across a variety of surfaces such as stairs, ramps, uneven terrain). Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and in writing, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.
