Georgetown Operations Center , 5960 1st Ave S, Seattle, Washington, United States of America Equipment Operator Department: Production FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Code: 51-1011 Reports to: Production Manager Revised Date: 10/19/23 Pay Rate: $21.65/hour About the Position The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of various PIT (Power Industrial Trucks) equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to transfer and load donated goods in support of Evergreen Goodwill’s business operations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Perform pre‑ and post‑operation inspection of equipment to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Operate forklift, pallet jack, front‑end loader, and other equipment safely and efficiently following proper safety standards. Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable material and maintain equipment condition to minimize downtime; clean tracks or wheels as needed. Report necessary repairs to supervisor. Follow all required safety policies and procedures. Demonstrate safe work practices and report potential hazards or accidents. Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Education and Experience Minimum 1 year of prior equipment operation experience. Minimum 1 year working in a warehouse environment; basic familiarity with warehouse procedures and operations. Prior experience working at OSHA‑regulated sites. Good time‑management and follow‑through skills; ability to adhere to work schedule and address challenges as they arise. Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations Goodwill forklift certification required (must meet eligibility requirements). Physical Abilities The job requires lifting and carrying up to 40–50 pounds, standing for long periods, frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing, climbing ladders, and traveling across varied surfaces. The employee must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including with those who have limited English skills, and maintain reliable attendance.
