Nuclear Medicine Technologist

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under physician direction. This role is responsible for preparing patients, administering radiopharmaceuticals, performing imaging studies, and ensuring accurate data collection and analysis in accordance with established clinical and safety standards.

Key responsibilities include maintaining proper handling and preparation of radioactive materials, calibrating imaging equipment, conducting quality control procedures, monitoring patient safety, and supporting clinical operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine imaging and therapeutic procedures
• Prepare and administer radioactive and non-radioactive pharmaceuticals
• Conduct dose calculations and data processing according to protocols
• Ensure proper preparation, storage, and ordering of radiopharmaceuticals
• Calibrate and maintain imaging equipment and perform quality control checks
• Monitor patients during procedures and ensure safety and comfort
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to support diagnostic accuracy
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Education meeting certification or licensure requirements for Nuclear Medicine Technology
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire
• Active or temporary Nuclear Medicine Technologist license (if required by state regulations) upon hire
• National Nuclear Medicine certification (ARRT-N or NMTCB) within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
