Travel ICU RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680–$1,770
• Location: Kingwood, West Virginia
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. or 7:30 a.m., including weekdays and every other weekend
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric ICU patients
• Typical Patient Ratio: 2 patients per nurse
• Electronic Medical Record: Cerner
• Orientation: 12 hours

Travel ICU Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in West Virginia or a valid Compact RN license; pending licensure may be considered
• At least 2 years of recent intensive care unit (ICU) nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
• CCRN certification preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with conscious sedation, telemetry, and ventilator management
• Availability for weekend coverage, including every other weekend
• Flu vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to adult and geriatric ICU patients during overnight shifts
• Monitor and manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation, noninvasive ventilation, high-flow oxygen, continuous sedation, and vasoactive or cardiac medication infusions
• Assess and respond to changes in patient condition, including dysrhythmias, acute stroke, renal failure, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, ports, chest tubes, and other critical care therapies
• Administer blood products, emergency medications, IV insulin protocols, and procedural sedation according to established standards
• Interpret arterial blood gases and obtain 12-lead ECGs as clinically indicated
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, laboratory, social services, and rapid response teams
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
