Residential Counselor

Job Description

Make a meaningful impact every day. PEP is seeking a dedicated Residential Counselor to support adults with chronic mental illness in developing the skills needed for independent living. This role is hands-on, client-centered, and essential to creating a safe, supportive home environment within our residential program.

What You’ll Do

• Support residents in daily living skills such as cleaning, meal prep, budgeting, and shopping
• Assist clients in meeting social, environmental, and health-related needs
• Plan and participate in social and recreational activities
• Transport residents to appointments, activities, and the PEP center
• Provide crisis intervention and emergency support when needed
• Document client progress, behaviors, and daily activities
• Monitor medication compliance and report concerns
• Maintain safe, clean housing units and report maintenance needs
• Support clients with personal hygiene and self-care routines

What We’re Looking For

• AA in Human Services (preferred) with 1+ year experience or
• BA in Psychology or Human Services
• Ability to complete at least one month of on‑the‑job training
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Must remain awake and available during overnight shifts (if applicable)
