Vascular Access Team- Clinical Nurse II- NIGHT shift

Vascular Access Nurse

A Vascular Access nurse at St. Joseph Medical Center is an autonomous and integral part of the multi-disciplinary care team. As the largest Vascular Access Team in UMMS, this role offers a large scope of skills along with modeling best practices.

Responsibilities:

Insert and maintain devices such as peripheral IV catheters and midline catheters
Respond as a member of the Emergency Response Team and place intraosseous needle when needed
Treat vesicant extravasations
Maintain a CLABSI free environment
Assist with central venous catheter management
Educate patients and staff on vascular access device best practices

Work Skills and Experience:

Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology
Proficiency with ultrasound-guided IV insertion
Familiarity with central line maintenance bundles and CLABSI prevention
Excellent critical thinking skills
Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

Required:

This is a NIGHT shift position, 3 (12)s, rotating 4th weekend, 1 summer holiday/ 1 winter holiday
This job will not have ability to transfer to day shift (7 p to 7 a)
Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland
Basic Life Support (BLS)
