Mortgage Underwriter Salary: $85,000 Location: Oklahoma City, OK (Hybrid must reside in the OKC metro area) Employment Type: Full-Time Trinity Employment Specialists is partnering with the largest independent residential mortgage lender in Oklahoma to hire an experienced Mortgage Underwriter. Position Summary The Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for reviewing and approving residential loan applications in compliance with agency and investor guidelines. This individual will work closely with loan officers and processors to ensure timely, accurate, and well-communicated decisions that support both compliance and customer experience. Mortgage Underwriter Key Responsibilities: Underwrite Conventional, FHA (DE), and VA (SAR) residential loans in accordance with agency guidelines Review credit, income, assets, collateral, and supporting documentation to assess overall loan risk Issue clear and concise underwriting decisions and conditions Communicate effectively with the loan team to resolve issues and move files efficiently toward closing Maintain compliance, quality control, and accuracy standards Manage pipeline volume while meeting established turn times Mortgage Underwriter Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years experience underwriting Conventional, FHA (DE), and VA (SAR) loans Experience with HUD 184 and USDA loans is a plus Strong understanding of Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector (LP) Experience with Encompass software preferred Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent time management and organizational skills High attention to detail and accuracy Positive, team-oriented attitude Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate takes ownership, values integrity, and understands they are representing a respected Oklahoma brand.
