$18.19 per hour 260 Day (12 month) calendar with standard benefits This position works 8 hours per day and 40 per week. The scheduled work hours for this position are 7:30 - 4:00 PM. x Approved Not Approved POSITION SUMMARY: Supports the mission of the school district by performing general secretarial tasks to support the department or building to which assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Monitors all budget expenditures ensuring proper procedures are followed for purchasing materials, equipment, and service. Monitors all budget expenditures, ensuring proper procedures are followed for purchasing materials, equipment, and services Oversees general budget procedures for: Departments overall budget Approval of expenditures by high school principals Reimbursement requests for all supervisors' expenditures Checks supervisors' calendar daily; sets appointments and informs them of all changes Greets all callers in person and by telephone; provides timely information and refers callers to appropriate department or other administrators for assistance Directs and handles mail, reserving sensitive mail for the supervisor Logs correspondence directed to supervisor as to critical return dates Prepares agendas for all meetings for the supervisor Handles response to routine correspondence Handles complex tasks involving confidential matters in an appropriate manner Performs other duties as assigned ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILIITIES: Ability to anticipate, initiate and follow through with duties not specifically assigned Ability to compose general correspondence Ability to evaluate and solve problems in the absence of supervisor Ability to execute defined work assignments Ability to move throughout assigned office and building Ability to perform necessary clerical procedures to complete assigned duties throughout assigned location Ability to recognize common safety and health hazards Ability to stoop, bend, twist, lift and move supplies, including lifting up to 15 pounds Ability to understand and know how to use supplies and equipment Possess interpersonal skills that enable the employee to interact with children, staff, parents, and supervisors in a professional and courteous manner BASIC REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED is preferred Two to three years of previous secretarial experience preferred Knowledge of office procedures and records management Possess strong computer skills EQUIPMENT USED: Standard office equipment Computer, telephone, copier, scanner, fax machine WORK ENVIRONMENT: Physical demands of handling a variety of student needs While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand, and reach Rockwood R-6 School District
