Youth Development Professional 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1221 Salary Range: $17.13 To $19.77 Hourly Job Title: Youth Development Professional Location: Trailside Reports To: Unit Director Job Summary The Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County (BGCSC) is a non-profit organization providing young people ages five (5) to eighteen (18) with a safe and positive place to spend their time before and after school and during the summer. Clubs are strategically located in neighborhoods and are accessible to all kids. Under the supervision of the Unit Director, the Youth Development Professional is responsible for helping to implement a variety of programs and activities that lead to three priority outcomes for youth: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship. Youth Development Professionals work with youth and create an environment that is safe and fun while helping members build confidence and skills. Job Duties Assists Program Director in planning and implementing activities for the youth that provides a sense of belonging Assists with managing program supplies and equipment Engages in physical activities such as sports, STEM, and arts and crafts Supervises the children independently in regulation of WA state law and Boys and Girls Club of America standard Prepares snacks for children using various kitchen tools while practicing food safety Support behavior in youth using trauma-informed practices Work with a wide variety of youth Ensure youth are safe and engaged in activities, this includes all safety requirements for Boys and Girls Club such as the 10 BGCSC Policies for Protection of the Youth Create positive and supportive relationship with youth Actively practice and participate BGCSC Cultural DNA guidelines Maintains organization and cleanliness of club, including but not limited to, all activity spaces, washing dishes, taking out trash, and organization of children’s belongings Maintain proper upkeep of equipment and supplies Other duties as assigned by Unit Director Job Qualifications Sixteen (16) years of age or older Ability to remain positive and organized in a fast-paced work environment Ability to incorporate organizational values fun, respect, integrity, community, and acceptance into all practices Prior experience working with youth or a background in early childhood education preferred Flexibility to work different hours based on seasonal and operational needs Ability to pass a drug test upon hire Ability to pass a background check in accordance with BGCSC standards upon hire Ability to walk or stand constantly with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to use fine motor movements with or without reasonable accommodation Benefits Offered to BGCSC Employees Medical, dental and vision insurance (Full-time employees) Life, Accidental Death, and Dismemberment (AD&D), and Long-Term Disability insurance (Full-time employees) Employee-paid supplemental life and AD&D insurance coverage options for the employee, spouse/domestic partner, and children (Full-time employees) Flexible Spending Account and Dependent Care Assistance Plan benefits (Full-time employees) Paid Sick Leave (Full-time and part-time employees) Employee Discount Plan (Full-time employees) Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County membership for eligible dependents aged 5-12.
