F5 Network Engineer

Qualifications Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Certifications F5 Certified Technician: BIG-IP (101 or 201) F5 Certified Implementation Specialist: Local Traffic Manager (201 or 301) F5 Certified Implementation Specialist: Global Traffic Manager (201 or 301) F5 Certified Solutions Expert: Application Delivery Fundamentals (301 or 401) Experience Minimum 5-7 years of experience with F5 products, specifically LTM and GTM. Configuration and management of F5 BIG-IP LTM and GTM modules. Experience with high-availability (HA) configurations. Scripting and automation experience. Technical Skills Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and related protocols. Experience with load-balancing algorithms and persistence methods. Security: Knowledge of SSL/TLS, security protocols, and best practices. Experience with F5 security features such as ASM (Application Security Manager) is a plus. Cloud experience (nice to have) Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integrating F5 with cloud services. Monitoring and logging: Experience with Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Splunk. Soft skills Problem-solver: Strong analytical ability. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Responsibilities Design and implement F5 LTM and GTM solutions that align with business requirements and best practices. Architect F5 solutions and ensure they integrate with existing network and application infrastructure. Configure and manage F5 BIG-IP LTM and GTM modules, including high-availability and disaster-recovery setups. Develop and maintain scripts and automation workflows for configuration management and CI/CD integration. Monitor device performance and health; set up alerts and notifications for critical issues. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to LTM, GTM, and associated services; perform root-cause analysis. Plan and execute software upgrades and patches with minimal downtime. Implement and maintain security configurations; ensure compliance with organizational security policies. Document procedures, configurations, incident responses, and best-practice guidelines.
