Purchasing Director – Workplace Supply Company Location: Brooklyn, NY (near the Queens Border) Overview We are a well-established and growing office products company seeking an experienced Purchasing Director to lead our purchasing and inventory management operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment and understands the buying for a distribution company. Responsibilities Direct all purchasing activities for workplace products, including office products, janitorial, breakroom and related supplies. Monitor inventory levels to maximize product availability while minimizing excess inventory. Analyze purchasing trends, costs, and vendor performance. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Work closely with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams to ensure timely order fulfillment. Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors. Manage purchasing and establish best practices for procurement operations. Analyze pricing, terms, rebate programs, and vendor agreements. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience in a distribution industry; workplace supply experience is a plus. Experience with inventory control, forecasting, and purchasing systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to adapt to purchasing and analytical tools. We Offer Salary range $60,000 to $70,000 commensurate with experience. Performance bonus opportunities.
