Construction Site Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of construction projects from mobilisation through to completion. The successful candidate will coordinate daily site activities, supervise subcontractors and trades, and ensure work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules and applicable regulations. This role requires a practical, organised leader who can maintain strong communication across all project stakeholders while responding effectively to changing site conditions.

Key responsibilities include preparing and managing short-term construction programmes, coordinating site logistics, allocating labour and equipment, and monitoring progress against agreed milestones. You will conduct regular site inspections, identify and resolve construction issues, review workmanship and materials, and ensure quality-control procedures are consistently followed. The Superintendent will also enforce health, safety and environmental requirements, lead toolbox meetings, maintain accurate site records, and promptly report risks, delays, variations and incidents. Working closely with project managers, consultants, engineers and clients, you will support cost control, programme updates, inspections, testing, commissioning and practical completion activities.

Applicants should have substantial experience supervising construction projects, preferably within commercial, civil, industrial or infrastructure environments, together with a thorough understanding of construction methods, sequencing and site management practices. Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation, quality assurance and relevant building codes is essential. The ability to interpret technical drawings, use construction management software and produce clear reports will be highly valued. You will need excellent leadership, planning, problem-solving and communication skills, with the confidence to hold contractors accountable while maintaining productive working relationships. A relevant trade qualification, construction management qualification or equivalent industry experience is desirable, along with current safety certifications and the ability to pass any required site or project-specific checks.
