Job Type & Schedule Full Time, 11a-11p with Weekends Rotate Job Summary Performs and assists in transporting patients of all ages from UVA Health Northern VA Culpeper to other health‑care facilities, nursing care facilities, or residential settings with qualified personnel as mandated by the patient’s condition. Responsibilities Transport patients of all ages to various healthcare facilities. Provide advanced life support and comply with protocols. Maintain calm and organized attitude in emergent situations. Operate mechanical ventilators and perform IV/IO access. Work independently and make decisions. Operate under REMS and department protocols, including special MD orders. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice of Virginia as a Paramedic. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (required). 2 years of experience as a cleared ALS provider with a 911 agency, inter‑facility, transport agency, or equivalent (preferred). State EMT/Paramedic certification, AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS. Advance Life Support Attendant: Paramedic. Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC). Valid Driver’s License with acceptable DMV driving record. Basic computer knowledge. Effective verbal and written English communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with the public. Physical Demands Medium to heavy physical demand: constant standing, frequent walking, bending/stooping. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs; use Safe Handling Equipment for weight over 35 lbs. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Other May require use of safety equipment such as HEPA mask for infection prevention.
