Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will play an integral role in supporting the accounting and financial reporting functions for multiple long-term care facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and contributing to a team committed to financial excellence.

Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting

• Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger activity.

• Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate variances.

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

• Support financial statement preparation and reporting.

• Maintain supporting schedules for balance sheet and income statement accounts.

• Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.

Financial Reporting

• Support the preparation of monthly financial reports for multiple locations.

• Ensure timely and accurate reporting for leadership.

• Assist with financial analysis and variance reporting.

• Help maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

Audit & Compliance

• Assist with annual financial audits and prepare requested schedules.

• Maintain organized accounting documentation and supporting records.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and established accounting procedures.

• Support regulatory reporting and multi-state accounting requirements as needed.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and efficiencies.

• Assist with special projects and system enhancements.

• Collaborate with finance and operational leaders to improve reporting accuracy.

QualificationsRequired

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

• 2-5 years of accounting experience.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.

Preferred

• Experience with Sage Intacct.

• Experience working in healthcare, long-term care, or multi-entity organizations.

• Knowledge of GAAP and internal accounting controls.
