About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Obstetrics Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Obstetrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, BLS Certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Must-Have: Experience in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and level 2 nursery Description: Only taking 5-week contracts starting in July. Manager interviews will be conducted. Candidates must have experience in Antepartum, Labor & Delivery (L&D), and postpartum care. Experience in high-risk cases is also preferred. The unit consists of 4 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum rooms, 3 postpartum rooms, and 1 delivery/procedure room. The nurse to patient ratio follows staffing guidelines for patient acuity. During peak times, nurses may assist in other departments such as medical-surgical units and emergency departments. Scrubs will be provided. Dependability, positivity, and motivation are key characteristics desired in candidates. Orientation will consist of on-unit learning. Caring for clean gynecological surgical patients is part of the role. The location features a riverfront with walking paths and a quaint downtown area with boutiques and dining options.
