Environmental Health And Safety Specialist

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assisting with the development and recommendation of environmental, safety and occupational health policies.
• Monitor and audit operational processes and employee activities related to EHS.
• Assist in investigating work related accidents and injuries while looking into process and behavior modifications to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents and illnesses.
• Meet with management team to define EHS goals and objectives.
• Assist in providing solutions and intervention strategies for environmental, health, and safety hazards in addition to preparing and submitting EHS compliance documents.
• Inspecting/auditing workplaces, processes, products, or other systems for compliance with established environmental, safety, and health policies or standards to identify potential new hazards.
• Assist with paperwork organization and filing.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide on the job training to new employees as needed.
• Follow all safety and health policies and procedures issued by the company.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• The ability to read and interpret safety data sheets.
• Ability to train environmental, health, and safety training.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Acute attention to detail and problem-solving abilities in addition to time management skills.
• Must have the ability to solve a wide range of problems with support from EHS professional staff on complex issues.
• Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office products for document management.
