Environmental Health And Safety Specialist

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting with the development and recommendation of environmental, safety and occupational health policies.
Monitor and audit operational processes and employee activities related to EHS.
Assist in investigating work related accidents and injuries while looking into process and behavior modifications to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents and illnesses.
Meet with management team to define EHS goals and objectives.
Assist in providing solutions and intervention strategies for environmental, health, and safety hazards in addition to preparing and submitting EHS compliance documents.
Inspecting/auditing workplaces, processes, products, or other systems for compliance with established environmental, safety, and health policies or standards to identify potential new hazards.
Assist with paperwork organization and filing.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide on the job training to new employees as needed.
Follow all safety and health policies and procedures issued by the company.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

The ability to read and interpret safety data sheets.
Ability to train environmental, health, and safety training.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Acute attention to detail and problem-solving abilities in addition to time management skills.
Must have the ability to solve a wide range of problems with support from EHS professional staff on complex issues.
Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office products for document management.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal office environment
