Lead Software Engineer, OptumRx Technology

Salary: $112,700 - 193,200 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• We look for 8+ years of full-lifecycle software development experience in an agile environment.
• We need strong hands-on experience with Go (Golang) for building services, APIs, and web applications.
• We require experience with HTMX or similar server-driven UI approaches for interactive web experiences.
• We expect experience building and consuming RESTful web services.
• We require experience with relational databases such as MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or comparable systems.
• We need working experience deploying and operating solutions in Microsoft Azure, including services such as storage, messaging, secrets, identity, and functions.
• We value experience with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and M365.
• We expect familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and containerized deployment across environments.
• We require strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering and business stakeholders.
• Preferred: experience with Domain-Driven Design, event-driven architecture, IaC/GitOps tooling such as Terraform, Helm, or Flux, and Kubernetes fundamentals.
• Preferred: familiarity with .NET / .NET Core services and integration or migration patterns.
• Preferred: familiarity with Java and Spring Boot.
• Preferred: familiarity with React and modern TypeScript front-end patterns, including micro-frontends and component-based UI.
• Preferred: knowledge of security best practices such as OWASP and awareness of regulated data handling concepts such as HIPAA, PHI, and PII.
• Preferred: exposure to observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or App Insights.

• We will have you drive end-to-end design and delivery of scalable full-stack applications using Go, HTMX, and modern web architectures.
• We expect you to provide technical leadership and mentorship while setting engineering standards and guiding teams through design, development, and delivery.
• You will own architecture and solution design, ensuring systems are secure, resilient, high-performing, and aligned with enterprise and cloud-native best practices.
• You will lead cloud engineering on Azure and design and operate scalable solutions using platform services.
• You will champion DevOps and quality practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and efficient release management.
• You will support operational excellence through monitoring, performance tuning, incident management, and secure data handling.
• You will collaborate cross-functionally with product teams, business stakeholders, and teams working in .NET and React ecosystems to deliver integrated solutions.
• You will promote innovation and productivity through adoption of AI-assisted tools.
