Location: Houston, TX (Multiple Sites Throughout the Houston Area)

Pay: $25.00 per hour | Weekly Pay

Schedule: Monday-Thursday | Approximately 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM (Site-Dependent)

Employment Type: Part-Time

Help Students Build Confidence, Skills, and Academic Success

Openwork is seeking dedicated and compassionate Academic Coaches to support youth and young adults ages 14-21 who are currently in or have aged out of foster care. This rewarding opportunity allows you to make a direct impact by helping students strengthen academic performance, build confidence, and develop important life and study skills.

What You'll Do:

• Provide one-on-one and small group academic coaching and tutoring
• Support students with school assignments, study habits, organization, and time management.
• Help youth strengthen executive functioning and academic success skills.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and student progress documentation.
• Ensure required assessments and program documentation remain current.
• Attend scheduled trainings, meetings, and program events.
• Travel to assigned tutoring locations throughout the Houston area.
• Build positive, supportive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree preferred; some college coursework will be considered.
• At least 1 year of tutoring experience in core academic subjects required.
• Experience tutoring higher-level math, science, and language arts preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience working with youth ages 14 and older required.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance required.
• Access to a personal computer and Microsoft Teams.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and student needs.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping youth succeed.
