Assembly Advisement Workplace Coach Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Senior Manufacturing Workplace Coaches - Assembly Advisement (Level 4) to support the Fabrication Skill Enhancement Center team located in Portland, Oregon. This position is for manufacturing/fabrication Workplace Coaches with knowledge or experience in Complex Assembly, Transmissions Assembly, Machining, Processing, and Actuation Systems, including Production Certifications and Production Systems, and other general shop fabrication/assembly practices at the Boeing Portland/Gresham Site. Position Responsibilities Utilizes manufacturing and assembly experience in one or more areas such as mechanical, fluids/pneumatics, electrical integration, composites fabrication, composites assembly, and machine operations for coaching, performance improvement and problem solving in support of the Boeing Production System. Analyzes and interprets performance and quality data to identify and mitigate the impact of changes on the production system (e.g. CMES, CORRS, PAS, EPES, TMC). Conducts assessments of processes and practices, analyzes and interprets data for improvement opportunities. Provides feedback on assessment results and identifies opportunities for improvement and potential areas of risk. Analyzes processes and supports Boeing Production System problem solving, develops and documents innovative solutions in support of area Q.C.D.S.M. goals. Assists Manufacturing & Quality managers & team leads with Structured On the Job Training (SOJT) plan. Program/job specific advanced skills training – supports training and coaching solutions to improve employee performance. Work Place Coaching – provides subject matter expertise for specific Manufacturing & Quality Skills/Disciplines. Provides instruction, positive modeling, and opportunities for observation to help team members and employees. Encourages questions to ensure understanding and, when coaching, gives timely, appropriate feedback on performance. Reinforces efforts and progress. Clarifies expected behaviors, knowledge, and level of proficiency by seeking and giving information and checking for understanding. Establishes good interpersonal relationships by helping team members and internal employees feel valued, appreciated, and included in discussions. Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long‑range goals of the organization. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of experience in aircraft manufacturing physically working with assembly processes and procedures. 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. Willingness to work variable shifts and overtime as needed to support production. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher. Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in aircraft assembly process. Experience and proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and templates. Proficiency with MS Office applications. Pay is based on candidate experience, qualifications, market and business considerations. Summary pay range: $119,000 – $161,000.
