Remote Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a dedicated and accomplished Remote Financial Controller to lead their finance operations. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa, though the core team collaborates virtually. You will be responsible for the overall financial health of the organization, overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to senior management. This role is crucial for driving financial stability and growth, requiring a proactive approach and excellent remote communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS .
• Develop and manage the company's budget and financial forecasts, providing detailed variance analysis.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions remotely.
• Provide strategic financial guidance and support to executive leadership to drive business decisions.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a professional qualification (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) being essential.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in progressive accounting and finance roles, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or controlling position.
• Proven experience in managing remote teams and utilizing virtual collaboration tools effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS, corporate finance, and South African tax legislation.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
