Payroll Clerk
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 to 5 onsite
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly payroll information with a high degree of accuracy
- Review employee time records, attendance data, and payroll entries for completeness
- Enter payroll-related information into payroll and HR systems
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving pay, hours worked, deductions, or employee records
- Maintain payroll files and supporting documentation in accordance with company guidelines
- Assist with employee questions regarding pay statements, deductions, and payroll procedures
- Support new hire setup, employee record updates, and payroll-related changes
- Verify payroll calculations, adjustments, bonuses, and other compensation transactions
- Generate payroll reports and assist with audits as needed
- Partner with accounting, human resources, and management teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance
Qualifications
- Previous experience in payroll administration, payroll support, accounting, bookkeeping, or a related role
- Understanding of payroll processes, wage calculations, and employee record maintenance
- Strong data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience working with payroll software, HRIS platforms, or ERP systems preferred
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- Experience with payroll platforms such as ADP, UKG, Paycom, Workday, or similar systems
- Familiarity with payroll taxes, deductions, benefits administration, and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting multi-state or high-volume payroll operations
