As a Construction Logistics Specialist II, you will play an important role in developing and coordinating temporary wayfinding strategies that support safe pedestrian movement, clear communication, and a positive passenger experience during construction. Working alongside project managers, contractors, designers, airport operations teams, and multidisciplinary stakeholders, you will help ensure temporary signage and wayfinding plans remain clear, consistent, visually effective, and aligned with construction phasing and airport standards. About Your Role The Construction Logistics Specialist II supports airport construction projects by planning, reviewing, coordinating, and monitoring temporary wayfinding systems throughout active construction. This position is responsible for evaluating signage needs, reviewing phasing and site logistics plans, developing wayfinding concepts and travel paths, coordinating production and installation schedules, and conducting site walks to assess signage effectiveness. The successful candidate will combine strong visual communication skills with an understanding of airport construction, passenger movement, signage standards, and project coordination. This role requires the ability to translate complex construction and field information into clear, accessible, and visually effective wayfinding materials. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, aviation, business, engineering, construction management, planning, or another related technical field. Master's degree preferred. What You'll Need to Get the Job Done Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, preferably supporting airport building programs or similarly complex construction programs. Multiple years of airport wayfinding experience. Experience creating, implementing, and overseeing temporary wayfinding strategies that support pedestrian flow and user experience. Strong understanding of temporary signage, mapping, and wayfinding industry best practices. Ability to assess signage quality, visual appeal, consistency, usability, and compliance with applicable standards. Ability to recommend appropriate sign types based on project scope, construction conditions, and passenger needs. Experience managing multiple collaborative wayfinding projects involving multidisciplinary teams. Ability to coordinate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders while meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and analyzing construction schedules, Gantt charts, design plans, phasing plans, and site logistics plans. Ability to evaluate signage needs based on construction activities, environmental conditions, passenger movement, and user expectations. In-depth understanding of signage materials, fabrication methods, color theory, typography, font specifications, and visual communication principles. Strong visualization and conceptual-development skills. Experience developing location plans, wayfinding concepts, and proposed paths of travel. Experience planning the production and installation of temporary wayfinding systems. Knowledge of signage installation procedures and field-verification practices. Experience conducting site walks to evaluate signage placement, clarity, condition, and effectiveness. Ability to track production, phasing, and installation schedules across multiple projects. Strong attention to detail when reviewing signage quality, consistency, visual appeal, accessibility, and usability. Skilled in layout and information design. Experience formatting wayfinding plans, maps, newsletters, flyers, stakeholder updates, and presentation materials. Ability to apply visual hierarchy, readability, consistency, and program-branding standards. Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical and field-based information to technical and nontechnical audiences. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite. Proficiency with Bluebeam. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint. Relevant professional licenses or certifications are preferred. Preferred certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PMP, PE, AICP, or other applicable professional credentials. Ability to successfully pass a federal background investigation. Ability to obtain and maintain a required LAWA badge. What You'll Do Develop, implement, and oversee temporary wayfinding strategies for active airport construction projects. Support pedestrian circulation, passenger flow, accessibility, and user experience during construction. Review signage quality, visual appeal, placement, readability, and compliance with airport and program standards. Recommend temporary sign types and wayfinding solutions appropriate for each project and construction phase. Coordinate multiple wayfinding projects with project managers, designers, contractors, airport operations teams, and other stakeholders. Review project schedules, Gantt charts, construction drawings, design plans, phasing plans, and site logistics plans. Evaluate signage and wayfinding needs based on construction activities, environmental conditions, passenger expectations, and operational requirements. Review project submittals, phasing plans, and site logistics plans submitted through Area Shutdown Request and Logistics Impact Review processes. Identify potential wayfinding impacts before construction activities begin. Develop temporary wayfinding concepts, sign-location plans, maps, and proposed paths of travel. Translate complex construction information into clear and easy-to-understand visual materials. Plan and coordinate the production, delivery, and installation of temporary signage and wayfinding elements. Track production and installation schedules across multiple projects and construction phases. Conduct regular site walks to evaluate signage placement, condition, visibility, consistency, and effectiveness. Recommend updates or corrective actions based on field observations and changing construction conditions. Verify the quality, consistency, usability, and visual appeal of signage and wayfinding materials. Prepare and format wayfinding plans, maps, newsletters, flyers, stakeholder updates, presentations, and related visual materials. Apply visual hierarchy, typography, color, readability, consistency, and program-branding standards to project materials. Create, edit, review, and mark up visual materials using Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam. Prepare project communications, schedules, presentations, and documentation using Microsoft Office applications. Maintain accurate records of signage locations, approvals, updates, production status, installation status, and field conditions. Communicate wayfinding changes, construction impacts, and signage requirements to project teams and stakeholders. Coordinate updates to temporary wayfinding plans as construction phasing and field conditions change. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to signage, passenger communication, and construction wayfinding. Perform additional duties as assigned in support of airport development projects.
