Unit: School Of Medicine MBU Department: Neurology Department Summary: The mission of the Department of Neurology is to provide state of the art comprehensive patientcentered neurological care for adults, perform translational andclinical research to further understanding of disease mechanismsand develop new treatments, and train the next generation ofneurologists and clinical neuroscientists. Department faculty havea responsibility to provide service to their profession and ourcommunity. Duties & Responsibilities: Teaching - Faculty member will teach medical students andhousestaff. They will be expected to participate in a series offormal conferences for the housestaff and students. They willattend weekly Grand Rounds and lecture upon occasion asrequested. Research - The Division of General and Headache Neurology isengaged in clinical and translation research projects. The facultymember will be expected to participate in and, when appropriate,lead, clinical research and clinical trials. Service - Faculty member will serve on departmental, School ofMedicine, and/or University committees as necessary, as well as ina professional capacity in their field, e.g. reviewer, conferenceorganizer, etc. Clinical - Primary clinical responsibilities include care ofpatients in both inpatient and outpatient settings Qualifications: MD/DO or MD/PhD degree (or equivalent) BC/BE in Neurology Successful completion of a neurology residency at an accreditedinstitution Additional requirement as per the ACGME Common CoreRequirements Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment ofrespect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or acommitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU Salary Range: Commensurate FLSA Exemption Status: Exempt ORP Eligible: No Rank: Open Tenure: Ineligible Months: 12 months #J-18808-Ljbffr The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc.
