$75.4k - $92.2kEnvista Holdings Corporation
Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Trade Compliance and Logistics Analyst independently manages and analyzes trade compliance and logistics activities supporting Orascoptic's domestic and international supply chain. The role ensures the compliant, accurate, cost-effective, and timely movement of materials and finished goods while advising cross-functional partners on customs, import/export, FDA, transportation, and documentation requirements. This role supports Manufacturing, Procurement, Regulatory, Engineering, Finance, and other internal partners.
This position goes beyond transaction coordination by owning complex issue resolution, performing data and risk analysis, recommending business actions, and leading process, carrier, and cost-improvement initiatives. The Analyst serves as a key liaison among Orascoptic, Envista's Global Trade Compliance and transportation teams, customs brokers, freight providers, distribution and commercial partners, and other external service providers.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Trade Compliance Analysis and Advisory
Independently manages inbound and outbound trade compliance activities and resolves complex shipment, customs, and documentation issues with minimal supervision.
Analyzes import and export transactions for accuracy, risk, and compliance, including tariff classification, country of origin, valuation, assists, record retention, and business-partner screening requirements.
Maintains accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule and applicable European tariff classification data, country-of-origin information, and supporting documentation in business systems.
Researches and interprets applicable trade requirements and translates regulatory or procedural changes into practical guidance, controls, and standard work for internal stakeholders.
Prepares responses to customs inquiries and supports requests for binding rulings in partnership with Envista Global Trade Compliance.
Leads preparation for internal and external audits, identifies control gaps, recommends corrective actions, and tracks actions through closure.
Provides trade compliance guidance and training to Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Regulatory, Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders.
Escalates material compliance risks and recommends actions that balance regulatory requirements, customer commitments, cost, and continuity of supply.
Global Logistics and Transportation
Serves as the primary Orascoptic resource for European logistics planning, execution, and issue resolution across ocean, air, truck, and small-parcel transportation modes.
Coordinates with European distribution, commercial, and service partners to address customs clearance, carrier performance, delivery, documentation, and cross-border shipment requirements.
Evaluates routing, service levels, lead times, freight costs, and provider performance and recommends changes to improve delivery reliability and total landed cost.
Leads resolution of high-impact shipment delays, customs holds, claims, and service failures by coordinating internal stakeholders, brokers, carriers, and other external partners.
Manages freight providers, freight invoices, shipment claims, and service-performance reviews, including root-cause analysis and corrective-action follow-up.
Develops and maintains logistics work instructions, escalation paths, standard processes, and required international shipping documentation.
Partners with Envista platform teams to leverage transportation contracts, rates, systems, and shared service providers and to implement enterprise logistics initiatives.
Analytics, Cost Management, and Continuous Improvement
Develops and maintains monthly trade compliance and logistics dashboards, metrics, and performance reporting for Orascoptic and Envista stakeholders.
Analyzes freight spend, accessorial charges, service performance, shipment patterns, and compliance data to identify trends, risks, savings opportunities, and corrective actions.
Supports freight budgeting and forecasting, explains variances, and provides data-based recommendations to business leaders.
Leads or independently executes freight savings, carrier optimization, process improvement, and system or data-quality projects from analysis through implementation and benefit tracking.
Uses ERP and other business-system data to improve classification, country-of-origin, shipping-documentation, inventory-adjustment, and reporting accuracy.
Establishes repeatable controls and standard work that reduce manual effort, prevent recurring errors, and strengthen compliance and operational performance.
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, international business, finance, operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
5+ years of progressive experience in trade compliance, international logistics, transportation, supply chain, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience supporting European or multi-country logistics, including cross-border transportation, customs clearance, and broker or carrier coordination.
Working knowledge of U.S. import/export requirements and applicable European customs and trade requirements.
Experience researching tariff classifications, country of origin, valuation, assists, and import/export documentation requirements.
Experience analyzing freight or compliance data, developing performance reporting, and translating findings into business actions.
Experience leading process improvement, cost-savings, carrier-performance, audit, or corrective-action initiatives.
Ability to travel up to 5 times per year, including potential international travel.
Ability to work across time zones when needed to support global partners and other international logistics activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with ERP systems and customs, transportation, freight-payment, or reporting tools preferred.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate complex information, identify root causes, and recommend defensible actions.
Ability to work independently, prioritize competing risks and deadlines, and exercise sound judgment within established policies and escalation protocols.
Strong knowledge of international transportation processes and the interaction among customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, distribution partners, and internal functions.
Ability to influence cross-functional partners and service providers without direct authority and to drive issues and improvement actions to closure.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical trade and logistics requirements to non-specialists.
Strong project-management, documentation, and organizational skills with consistent attention to accuracy and control effectiveness.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems; experience with data visualization or reporting tools preferred.
Ability to work effectively across cultures, countries, and time zones and to build productive relationships with global partners.
