Schedule: 7a-4p, Full Time, 40 Hours per week at Emory University Hospital - Midtown. We are the only health system in Georgia with four Magnet®-recognized hospitals. The Nurse Practice Specialist is the clinical and education lead for a program or an area of defined nursing practice. Responsibilities The Nurse Practice Specialist provides leadership to integrate new knowledge and innovation within a specialty area, collaborates with administrative leaders, educators, nurses, physicians to promote quality improvement, and contributes to advancement of nursing practice at various levels. They direct and manage process improvement projects that align with strategic plans, interpret and disseminate results, and use technology and data for patient-centered care transformation. The specialist influences and guides direct care for complex patients with multi-system issues, evaluates all processes for effective implementation and outcomes to meet patient goals and attain optimal care delivery outcomes. Qualifications Professional Nursing Certification required (CCRN, CEN, OCN, etc.) Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and at least three years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least two years of recent experience in the area of concentration. BLS and ACLS certifications required. Environmental Factors Potential exposures include blood-borne pathogens, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals, gases, fumes, vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, and travel. Personal protective equipment, including respirators, may be required.
