Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Acute Care – San Luis Obispo, CA - URGENT

Assignment: 13 weeks

Assignment Details

• Start Date: 10/12/2026

• End Date: 01/10/2027

• Duration: 13 weeks

• Shift: Days – 1st shift

• Schedule: 5×8s

• Hours: 40 hours/week

• Hours: Approximately 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with some schedule variability

• Alternative Start: Some days may begin at 7:45 AM for rounds and end around 4:15 PM

• Call: No

• Weekend Rotation: Required — likely every 3rd Saturday/Sunday

• Floating: Yes — between Sierra Vista and Adventist Health Twin Cities

• Pay: $65–$67/hour

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,600–$2,680/week

Clinical Details

• Provides speech therapy services throughout the hospital

• Patient populations include:

  • Day Stay

  • NICU

  • SDU

  • Med/Surg

  • Pediatrics

  • ICU

• Acute-care inpatient services

• Outpatient Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS)

• ICU patient care

• Trach patient experience

• Modified Barium Swallow Studies required

• Lift equipment available

• Scrubs: Not provided; no specific color required

Requirements

• 2 years of acute-care experience with adults

• 1 year of experience may be considered if an internship was completed in an acute-care setting

• Must be proficient in conducting MBSS

• Acute-care hospital experience required

• Experience with adult patients

• Experience with tracheostomy patients preferred/expected based on assignment

• Ability to work across multiple hospital units

• Ability to float between Sierra Vista and Twin Cities

• Weekend rotation required
