Biomedical Equipment Technician 2

GE HealthCare seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 to service and maintain complex medical equipment at hospital locations in the Reston, VA area. The role involves diagnosing equipment issues, performing repairs and preventive maintenance, managing customer relationships, and mentoring junior technicians while meeting regulatory compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose complex biomedical equipment problems; implement appropriate repairs and solutions
• Perform planned maintenance, safety inspections, and document all repair actions and service reports
• Lead, instruct, and assist junior technicians on equipment repairs and troubleshooting procedures
• Maintain proactive customer communication, manage inventory of parts and tools, and ensure equipment calibration compliance
• May serve as Site Leader directing technician activities and participating in customer safety committees

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering plus 2+ years medical equipment service experience
• OR equivalent military education and 2+ years electrical or mechanical equipment servicing
• OR High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years medical equipment service experience
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers
• Willingness to work rotating on-call schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs, bend, climb, and work in various physical positions; good hand dexterity and vision abilities

Compensation: $71,840–$107,760 annual base
