Position Summary
Responsible for the day-to-day work of his/her crew, including: its work schedule, job assignments, plants and materials, equipment and power tools, cost effectiveness, work quality, training and safety. Ensures that all assignments are implemented and completed. Sets example for all crew members. Oversees safe loading and driving of vehicle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned laborers and ensure their compliance with all work orders, company policies, regulations, and work assignments.
• Ensure crew readiness for each daily work assignment, including crew preparation, truck, trailer, and motorized equipment operation, power and hand tools, job materials. Arrive at work ready and fully prepared to leave the shop promptly at assigned time.
• Ensures safe and legal and proper loading, unloading and driving of trucks
• Cultivate and maintain positive attitude and pro-active work style. Motivate and work with assigned crewmembers as a team, build and maintain an atmosphere of company-wide morale.
• Complete all assigned tasks and daily work orders as directed
• Works with crew to ensure the timely, safe and cost-effective completion of all assignments.
• Ensure that work meets or exceeds all company standards and is in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Uses good judgment to take initiative in correcting problems that may occur.
• Attends classes and seminars to develop leadership and technical skills and training.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Follow daily work orders from Division Manager or Supervisor, and confirm a thorough understanding of all assignments.
• Secure, organize and safely transport all equipment, tools, and materials required for each job.
• Work with laborers loading and off-loading all equipment, tools, and materials from vehicles to ensuring safe off-loading, safe staging, use and storage of all items at a client's property and in JSLI yard.
• Understand and operate all equipment and tools safely and in accordance with manufacturers operating instructions. Wear all personal protective clothing and equipment as required by company and in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Report work progress, problems and needs to the appropriate supervisor throughout the day.
• Report safety hazards on the job site to Division Manager or Supervisor.
• Report personnel problems to the appropriate supervisor in a timely fashion.
• Reports vehicle, equipment, tool maintenance and repair needs to the appropriate supervisor in a timely fashion.
• Interact with client on a regular basis as requested
• Respond to all communications from JSLI management in a timely manner.

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong preference for candidates with landscaping experience
• Must be hands-on and work alongside the crew
• Bilingual is a plus

  Education & Experience

• Minimum 2 years prior work in industry
• Willingness to learn English
• MUST have  clean driving record
• MUST have  supervisory / leadership experience
